Our Story
Tango Caftans was born out of a passion for exceptional fabrics, a commitment to sustainability, and a desire to fill a gap in Nigeria’s vibrant caftan fashion industry. While the market is rich with creativity, we noticed two common challenges: many brands rely on the same beloved traditional fabrics—such as aso oke, adire, and ankara—or source materials from local markets, which don’t always meet the durability standards of fabrics produced by some European mills. We wanted to avoid these challenges by offering something different: sourcing high-quality fabrics from Europe to create unique and timeless caftans that stand out from the crowd. We had seven years experience in luxury fabrics sales and used that experience and access to lay the foundation for Tango Caftans.
Our kaftans are ethically crafted in Nigeria using premium fabrics sourced from Europe and Asia. Each piece is a blend of global materials and local artistry, featuring intricate embroidery handcrafted by skilled artisans from Northern Nigeria. This unique combination ensures that every Tango Caftan tells its own story.
